True story. This goes for any passions we have in life. A lot of times I get completely swept away by the idea of something, and want to jump in whole heartedly. I'm completely driven by motivation, and when it's there, it's great in power. However, motivation slowly fades away, especially once reality sets in and I start thinking about logistics, or when it comes to fitness and health, mental toughness and persistence. Motivation fizzles, and suddenly the one thing I was so passionate about it the one thing I don't want to do. Can y'all relate? What's kept me going in fitness and health was, and still is motivation, but it's also discipline. Motivation for my fitness journey has changed, grown, and is constantly taking on different forms. My motivation for working out at the start was to lose weight. Now it's to keep a healthy lifestyle, and working out and striving to eat healthy are both now part of my life. What kept these two things from being fli...

I know I am late getting this out there, but here is tonight's dinner recipe! I love salads, but the husband doesn't usually see salad as a complete entree. What won him over about this salad was an entire grilled chicken breast sliced and placed over the top, because protein! Duh. This reminds me of a tip: when you buy chicken breasts at the store, if you want to extend meals and save money, butterfly them and freeze half of them! This will double our amount of chicken. Let's face it, some of those chicken breasts we bring home are big enough for two anyway! I digress. This salad was wonderful and tasted like a big bowl of summer! The peaches added a little natural sweetness, as did the honey in the dressing, but it wasn't overpowering. I don't like my main dishes, such as dinner, to be sweet, so My palate was very happy about this. I also love the creaminess of the goat cheese. The salad we made was huge, and we not used about half a log of goat cheese. The dr...

How's everyone doing today? Summer seems to be super busy, even when nothing in particular is planned. I find myself feeling like I'm constantly in the move, almost as if my daily tasks are on a timer. When that happens, I tend to get stressed and not get anything done. I have to remind my self to slow down, take deep breaths, and list out loud ally what I need to do by order of priority. You know what almost always comes first on that list? My workout. My workout is top priority because not only is it's essential to being fit and physically healthy, but it is crucial to being mentally healthy as well. Working out centers me, and I've found my stress and anxiety goes way down once I've gotten in my exercise for the day. If I miss one, it's most likely because I don't have a plan. I would argue with anyone that the biggest, most important part of establishing healthy habits and transforming your life is to have a plan in place. Know what routine you are doing...

Hi everyone! It's Mom Bod. Because this is my first blog post, I will introduce myself before I go into my spiel of the day about why YOU are important and why, although I don't know you, I know that you CAN get fit and healthy after kids. You can feel better about yourself. You can do this despite all of your reservations and obstacles. Even though we don't know each other, we share similar stories: A Mom on a mission to get her body back after babies and feel happy, healthy, and comfortable in her own skin! I know what it's like and how difficult it can be to find time for yourself, but here I am, sharing everything I know through my own personal journey to fitness and health post babies, to tell you that it can be done, and it can be done by YOU. I'm no "coach" or fitness professional. I'm a mom of two toddlers 16 months apart who left her career to stay home. I've been on both sides -- three really-- working mom in a brick and mortar setting,...
