Hi everyone! It's Mom Bod.

Because this is my first blog post, I will introduce myself before I go into my spiel of the day about why YOU are important and why, although I don't know you, I know that you CAN get fit and healthy after kids. You can feel better about yourself. You can do this despite all of your reservations and obstacles. Even though we don't know each other, we share similar stories: A Mom on a mission to get her body back after babies and feel happy, healthy, and comfortable in her own skin! I know what it's like and how difficult it can be to find time for yourself, but here I am, sharing everything I know through my own personal journey to fitness and health post babies, to tell you that it can be done, and it can be done by YOU. I'm no "coach" or fitness professional. I'm a mom of two toddlers 16 months apart who left her career to stay home. I've been on both sides -- three really-- working mom in a brick and mortar setting, working mom working at home on a virtual setting, to full-time mom. This blog is dedicated to every kind of mom out there! I will share with you my struggles in health and fitness, along with my successes, and healthy eating habits and recipes I love! Nothing beats support and motivation. You might feel alone in your journey, but you're not. There are those who are just ahead of you and are clearing a path, and those who are trailing behind, and those who walking with you arm-in-arm. We are all in this together!

Now on to my first motivational spiel (as if THAT wasn't one 😜):

Simple! You can. You've got this. You can do it. Yes, you. Whatever you tell yourself today that keeps you from where you want to be, combat it with this: You can. You don't think you can do THAT workout because you're "too out of shape"? YOU CAN. Modify it. Go slower. Focus on mastering the moves. You can do it. Everyone starts at the beginning, just like you. You think you can't eat healthy because you "can't give up" a certain something, or you "can't cook", or "healthy food is expensive"? Guess what? You can! It doesn't have to be expensive or difficult. It can be affordable and simple. Whatever it is in your life that you WISH you could do, you CAN! Wishing is good, but wishing also leads to unnecessary excuses that are driven by fear of some sort (failure, unknown, change, perfection, acceptance), and that fear keeps us from putting our wishes into actions because that fear creates excuses for our minds so that our minds can placate us with, "That's okay. I know you wish you could, but don't feel bad. You CAN'T because X, Y, and Z." The only legitimate reason for not doing something is a medical reason given by a medical professional. It's always scary to start, but once you tell yourself to just do it, you will see that it can be done, and it can be done by YOU.

You can do anything, as long as you tell yourself that YOU CAN.
